In the last couple of years my dad has been layed off, and to make matters more difficult, his crippling migraines have made the thought of work a distant dream. Mom and Dad's money has run out, and now it's a fight to keep the house. In an effort to try to ease some stress and ultimately save their home, i've been selling blades to assist them as much as i can.

A large number of Bf members have offered kind words and support, it's great to be a part of such a great community. I'm blessed to be apart of this group of wonderful people.
I'd like to thank all those that have been such a help.

Specifically, These two gentlemen have kindly donated funds without anything in return. In a world that is consumed by greed and selfishness, men like this are a rarity.
AValenz, drrickso, you guys are one of a kind! Your generosity and humbleness are greatly appreciated!

*EDIT*
The list of generous and kind people keeps growing:
AValenz
drrickso
amflud
Padad24al
endgamer
Treeshaker

Thanks BF! Honored to be part of this forum!

I'm sorry to hear about your father's troubles. I was laid off last earlier last year and the plant my Mom worked at for the past 15+ years closed a couple of months ago. It isn't easy.
Those migraines can be really debilitating.:( I hope he is able to find some sort of treatment to help alleviate his symptoms. I will keep your family in my prayers.
That is great that some of the members here have been able to help. That certainly shows a lot generosity and selflessness on their part. They are a credit to the forum. Take care and I hope your family is able to get through these difficulties soon.

Regards

Seth- Mark already said it but her's a quote from A. G. Russell.
"Knife people are some the nicest people I have ever met."

Two big thumbs up, for AValenz, & drrickso.:thumbup: You guys are Awesome!

I will keep, you, & your parents in my prayers, Seth....keep the Faith!

There are so many great people here. Many are very caring and generous...

I wish your parents the best. It is hard for them, and you. Hopefully things turn around for them soon. Migraines can be very devastating, I've dealt with them for years.
Financially it may not be easy, but there are some medications that will greatly help, and there are some pharmaceutical companies that will help with the cost of the meds for those that can't afford it. All he needs is a prescription.

You and your folks and the entire family will be remembered in my nightly conversations with the Guy Above

When I needed a hand, the guys from BFC were right there. Be it a kind word, a prayer or some financial help the members of this great forum have always been there to support me. I can never thank those that helped enough or repay those that gave to my cause and needs.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with how kind you are, Seth. You are easily one of the nicest members I've had the pleasure of interacting with on this forum.

Seth,

Knifemakers and collectors are some of the best folk I have met over the years. I am glad you have had a good experience with the knifeworld like so many of us have.

As for your folks...that really sucks.... and I hope some relief and peace come their way.

You are a good son.

I couldn't agree with you more. Seth, is without a doubt, one of thee nicest guys on this forum.

I heard something a while back and it really got me thinking. I'll try to condense it for the benefit of the "tl'dr" crowd.

It can be said that being "nice" is something shown that is as deep as the uppermost surface of a persons character. Being "nice" is a superficial and transient. Something that can be turned on and off like a light switch as the need arises and doesn't go any further beyond that.
However, true kindness is something that cannot be taught, it cannot be bought, or ignored. Kindness comes from the heart, the most visceral area of our being. Some people get it and others miss it.

Sorry to sound like cheesy greeting card, but I feel it's very true.

Best wishes to you and your family Seth, remember it can't always be bad.

Hey all,

Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers and replies. It feels good to know that people i've never met(and most likely never will) showing support. You guys(men and women) are the backbone of this forum, and much more importantly, the backbone of our country.

Kindness is a trait that most look on with disdain and confusion. As if kindness makes a man weak. Kindness, humility and meekness are traits that many more need, but few aqcuire.
To those few that have the previously mentioned traits, hold fast to them. People will take advantage, but that says more about them than you.

Again, I Greatly appreciate the kind thoughts and words.

AValenz, drrickso embody and personify the kindness and generosity that most of us( myself included) wish we had more of. And they're humble to boot. Gentlemen, May your kindness be rewarded back to you tenfold.

thanks for the kind words seth.
this hobby is a luxury where we all spend for lack of a better word "extra" money on (very) cool tools and collectables. as much as we all want more toys- priorities and need override the want- and nothing is more important than family. you show that by sacrifing and caring for yours. best of luck!

I have learned a great deal about myself in recovery
10 years and counting

KINDNESS for me
Is doing things for others-family-strangers

EXPECTING nothing in return...
I do things for people
Because I want too and it brings me a feeling a joy too help..

Doing things for others expecting NOTHING..Not only speaks of your character
It speaks in volumes of your compassion for others...

Never give up..You reach out to others for help.NO Matter how humbling it may be..
It never gets old seeing the kindness of others.,.EVEN when you might think the goodness of people
is not as evident as it once was.

I personally no of seths kindness and friendship.he goes out of his way for all his friends.I hope all is well with the family .I will text you in a few to see how I can help.

Hey all,

My folks and I are honored, speechless and and extremely grateful! The amount of support that has been pouring in is staggering. I'm at a loss for words to convey our appreciation.

That being said, This thread was started to thank those that have gone above and beyond to help a stranger in need. It was NOT to raise to funds or garner sympathy.
There are many more deserving people out there that need help much more than we do. So, if your heart is moved to help those less fortunate than you, please help your local shelter or charity of your choice.

We feel very blessed and humbled by the kindness and generosity of the members of BF. God bless you all!

Thanks!
The Greens

Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully things will start to look up. You are doing an amazing job helping out your family. Keep it up and stay strong.
