King Axe and Tool project

Southern Maine has a lot of bear oak, but that stuff is shrubby and small, for the most part. Like not over 2" diameter, most of it being 1/2". They're more like bushes than trees. White oaks do exist here, they just aren't nearly as common as red oaks.

Is that a Maine wedge?Stopped at a rockler wood working store this morning and I was shocked how much they wanted for white oak.

I would consider it a Maine wedge

Are there any special characteristics that people look for in a Maine wedge?
Other then wedge shape and being from Maine.
