King of Kershaw?

I have to admit, the reason I buy Kershaw is because of Ken Onion (OK, it's also Kershaw's knives are easier to find where I live). Most of his recurve blades are just so beautiful that they're irresistible ;-)

I wish also they will proceed with Taboo as well:

Thansk, Vassili.

Oh, Boa! It was high in my wishlist, but since I've seen MidTech Boa... it ruined production one for me(((
And I can't afford it, that's for sure (banging head against the keyboard)

Vassili, as I know you have an Outcast, how do you rank the MITE steel vs other classes of stainless? Comparable to S30V? VG-10? 440A?

I have to admit the Outcast intrigues me (although I am not big on the splatter handles), but I'd like to know how the MITE compares to other steels...especially because of the price.

You mean Offset of course.

I did not run real test yet - don't have time for this. Only things like - cutting sofa packaging cardboard box. It cuts it pretty well because of blade profile - like hook on hunting knives. On that cardboardit act as good as any premium steel - no any visible failure or something, but I am not skilled enough and can not say more without mesuaring sharpness with thread on scales.

Thanks, Vassili.

Does anyone rememmber Kershaws Onion Vault lock.As far as MRSP it was one of the most expensive ones.It had a titanium handle with rubber inlays, the lock fit under the thumb stud and recessed into the handle.Blade was 440v,later called s60.I think it was a limited run of 500 folders.250 plain edge and 250 partially serrated.

not that "high end" but for me it's the leek, great little knife, you don't even know it's there until you need it. very clean lines. later, ahgar

Whoops, yes I ment the Offset - thanks Vassili! :foot:

Thomas W - care to add any information about Kershaw's performance testing of MITE? I stated earlier in comparison to stainless...but is MITE really a stainless steel? I know it's not objective asking the "source", I'm really just curious.

I personally am excited with the new MITE technology...from what I've read it seems similar to S30V in the fact that it's a powdered metal steel. Kershaw is one of my 3 favorite production knife companies (also Spydie and Benchmade), and it's refreshing to see innovative new technologies coming from them!

On topic, if you asked me the King of Kershaw I'd say the Leek. Innovative, practical, and beautiful in it's simplicity. Once I know more about the Offset (and perhaps someday, own one) I may change my tune!
