Surely someone must have positive experiences with King Of Swords?

Their site is still up, I assume they get a lot of traffic... Yet the site is lamented in various places (including here) after a little google search. Surprisingly, no good experiences were found. Could this be because usually bad news travel faster?

Too obvious that I recently placed an order there and after doing so, did a search on them?
I have no reason to be concerned yet, other than what I've read on them. My personal experience so far has been alright, my order is now "accepted" and I've received answer to my e-mail (within few hours) where I asked about one of the items in my order.
It's been just a few days but after reading all this dirt on them... I felt I should ask you, just to put my mind at ease.

They ship outside US, offer a variety of budget knives... It's right up my alley.

PS. Sorry my English might be a bit broken, I'm a foreigner so I wouldn't know.

Yeah those are the same that alerted me. Well, those and a few others.

I'm still willing to give them a chance. A lot of places with fair amount of traffic have some trouble every now and then and some of the customers may have been a tad hasty in their judgment as well..? Though that's an issue I would know nothing about. Hopefully everything goes well.

So far my order status is still "Accepted", we shall see what happens. If I've heard nothing by next week, I suppose I'll send 'em e-mail asking for an update on the order, just so I'll know when I should be expecting my knives. I'll keep updating this thread for future reference for others like myself.

I take it no one has ordered from King of Swords then? Or at least not the regulars..?
I know you have your own favored stores but sadly, either they don't stock the knives I'm looking for or then they don't ship outside US. This seems to be the case with balisongs, for example.

When I hear that a company has burned my fellow knife enthusiasts and furumites, I tend to not want to give them my money. I just keep looking for someone who is running an honest business, even if they are a lil more expensive. I rather pay a lil more for better service. Just my oppinion.

Good luck

Actually, I finally registered to these forums after I googled "King of Swords" and read the complaints on here. I vaguely remember reading stuff on here before but now I finally delved in deeper.

I understand not wanting to give money to people who had issues with your friends but like I said, my order was already placed before I did any research. The same old story: I was happy to find a seller that still had the knives I wanted and on top of that, was willing to ship outside US... Made a hasty decision but can't say I regret it. No problems so far.
Obviously everyone would rather support decent businesses/people than saving a few bucks but I'm not too familiar with the situations others have complained about so I figured I'd better stay out of them and give King of Swords a fair chance.

I have my hopes up and am still anxious to hear about possible good experiences with them?

Edit. Read those other 3 threads again... Honest mistakes? And Scott himself showed up trying to resolve the issue. And accusations from 1 post members that never cared to elaborate... Still hopeful. Sometimes there's more to the story. "They are only shitmen" was funny though. As sad as the assumed situation was.

Alright. I had to cancel my order. Just found new reports dating to the beginning of this year so... I can't afford to wait and see what happens. I'll stick to my old sellers and the ones that don't have multiple complaints under their belt.
That is not to say King of Swords isn't trustworthy... I'm just not one able to find it out for myself. I lack the funds to put my trust in new sellers.

But I have to say this: so far I've e-mailed King of Swords back and forth few times about the items in my order and they've always responded within few hours. So from my brief experience with them I can say that with me, the communication was solid. I appreciate that. Should I be in a better shape financially, I'd be willing to give them a chance but alas, I'm poor.

I will update how the refund works out.

As a customer, I feel like s**t (are we allowed to cuss on these forums?) for doing this. But the constant stream of bad news caught me off-guard.

Update for the sake of others filled with hope and good intentions:

So yeah... No refund. Good communication though, until I gave up on bugging them with e-mails. I'm not that kind of an a**hole, after all. I prefer solving issues face to face and me being foreigner, that's out of the question here.
My faith in humanity and fair chances took another hit.
Filed a dispute though and will get my money back. Sadly that comes from the bank's/card company's insurance instead of KOS. I have no doubt in my mind that the bank would not survive this huge $110 hit but still. It was not theirs to pay.
Hopefully they'll get their money back.

I'd advise others finding this thread through Google or whatever: if you're like me (not too much money to throw around), save yourself the trouble. On the other hand if you don't care about possibly losing your money, go for it. But as for me, I'll stick with the reputable sellers.

Lesson learned. Good thing now I know about these forums so there's at least some indication about who's who in the knife world. Glad to be here.

Skoi,
Sorry it took a bad deal to get you here but new enthusiasts are always welcome.
all da best,
rats...

Time for an update.

After the 2 months the bank apparently takes for this sort of stuff (buying with a card outside my country) I got my money back.

I e-mailed KOS a few times, being the gent I am I didn't get heated up as I knew my bank was already on it but nonetheless, tried to reason with them to get my money back a tad sooner. I always got a quick reply promising to return the money as quick as possible and that my message had been forwarded to accounting or whatever (which I thought was excellent) but sadly I learned that it really didn't mean anything.
As I've never been to their store, I assume this could be because of the constant traffic they get but still... Would be more tolerant if it was an individual making the knife instead of a business affair.

I know I won't try my luck again, even if eventually I got mine back.
