Someone asked me if I ever made a 'Kiridashi' style... Here's my first attempt. I've never seen quite this design before (I did a google search and you'd be suprised how many come up)... The idea was for it to have a profile that looks the same from both ends (I can't think of the right word for that)... Not what you'd grab if the zombies attack, but a perfect little cutter for the right job at the right time... Your thoughts?

That's cool! (I like the sheath too.):thumbup:

was in the market for a kiradashi a few months ago…. I love you take on it.

Great looking Dashi there. I love the symmetry it has. If you don't mind what is the handle material you have there?

Sorry, forgot the details... About 4.5" long, 1 5/16" edge, made froom a Nicholson file tempered to 56-58Rc., natural micarta scales w/ nickelsilver pins... The radius is 2", ground on a 4" wheel...
-Thanks for looking!

That is insanely nice! been wanting to make one myself and differentially heat treat it. :)

A very cool dashi you have there, I have no doubt that Itll be a quick seller if you made a batch

Michael,

That is probably the best interpretation of a Kiridashi I have ever seen! Very well thought out and made.

I really have enjoyed watching you progress so quickly and innovatively in the few years that you have been making knives!

Cheers!

mr.morris, i really like you take on it! this may be a rush, but what are you estimating the prices to run for one of them? also will they come with a sheath included?

Well,
The response has been quite encouraging! I think I might need to make a batch (maybe a dozen or so) and see where this style takes me... But it will need to wait at least until January/February so I can get a bit caught up on web orders and Christmas orders and such...Thanks for the kind words everyone!
