Check out these heavy duty Kiridashis in super tough 5160 and 52100 steel! They have epoxy soaked cord wrap handles, the cord wrap is grippy, comfortable, lightweight, water-resistant and long lasting. I use my digitally controlled kiln and engineered quench oil for the heat treat and always back my work 100%. They all come with a Kydex sheath and can be set up for tek-lok, pocket or necker use.

Here's a thread with some discussion on the uses of a Kiridashi - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/912170-Uses-of-a-Kiridashi

Specifications -

5160 or 52100 Steel
about 6" long
roughly 1/4" thick
zero bevel chisel grind with microbevel on the back for ease of sharpening
rounded edges, spine and bottom - feels great in the hand - multi grip
Relic plum brown finish
Knocker pommel
West System epoxy soaked paracord handle - very grippy
versatile Kydex sheath - works with a teklok in multi positions or necker cord - easy to clean with removable hardware

Hand made in the USA - Sole authorship

Very nice! Would love a lefty grind. If you make another batch with one in the near future, I'm a guaranteed sell.

+1 on a lefty grind version!

Hey Thanks for the feedback, I'll have to keep that in mind!

I have been using mine with both hands this week for scoring drywall and it works well because of the back microbevel but I do prefer the grind on my dominant hand.

what in your opinion is the main difference between the 5160 and the 52100 steels besides the 5 bucks of course

I feel the 5160 is a bit tougher and the 52100 holds a bit better edge, both are great steels. The 52100 is only more because it costs me more.

I kept one in 52100 and the edge holding is excellent and it is as tough as can be. I was using mine all day today cutting drywall for my new shop.
