Kit/B.O.B. camping

I forgot to mention earlier that when we do this kit campout the first time I'll be using my small kit which doesn't include a blanket. So I'll probably use my sleeping bag and Thermarest foam pad.

The second trip I plan to have a wool blanket or Poncho liner. Am hoping to relearn how to make a good shelter that will keep me warm with just a blanket. About 10 years ago I could rig up shelters a tarp or shelter half and some rope that would keep one warm in spring/summer weather with just a wool blanket. Am hoping to get that good again.

Even with the blanket/poncho liner, you may want to add a space blanket. and since they don't take up much room a Fresnel lense and a fox recue whistle.

I also like the idea of a deck of cards, especially for camping with others, you can get ones that help with plant identification or knot tying so they serve double purpose.
 
I would add a small pair of Binoculars ,I keep a little pair of cheap Bushnells in my pack,save me a walk or two realizing I could not cross further down either ? or Evaluate danger from afar .. so many uses
