Kit Carson model 4 -- small or medium?

Similar to the Sebenza debate. I've got a small Sebenza, so I'm thinking to follow it up with a small Model 4. Or would a medium (3.5" blade) make more sense?

Anyone tried either as an EDC?

Mike

I also have a small Sebenza that I carry daily, and have a Model 4 on order from Kit. I chose the Large for the times that something smaller just isn't sufficient.
I should have it within a few months and I can't wait!

I recently got a large model 4. I love it! It is one big folder though. Really a little too big for my tastes as far as EDC goes. So I ordered a medium from him. Now all I have to do is wait a couple of years to get it. :(

For me, I think the medium is the right size for EDC.

I have a small Model 4 in my pocket as I type. I have only had it a little over a week but have carried it constantly since I received it. If you like a 3" inch blade you will like the small. It fits my medium hands well and is very comfortable to hold even when "white knuckled". The blade looks similar in shape to the Sebenza Classic. I bet the medium Model 4 has all of these qualities just with a larger blade, if you prefer the 3.5" blade. I personally like my EDC to be right at 3" and the small is as close to the perfect EDC I have found...Ed.

I'm perfectly comfortable carrying a large Mod 4 around as an EDC due to the beautifully radiused contours, so I'd imagine the medium would be the better way to go between your two choices.

First. . .get a medium Carson.

Then. . .get a small Carson.

Finally. . .get a large Carson.

Man, ya can never go wrong with a Carson ~ no matter the size.

And they say that size doesn't matter. . . ;)

Thanks to an unnamed Large Texan  from the forum, I have had a large model 4 for a while now...the large is just that...LARGE , but it carries very well. If I had two and one was a Med, it might replace my large in the DC rotation but no real need to swap it out for now.

You won't go wrong whatever you choose. They a whompin tough folders.

I don't have medium but I have a pitcure for small model 4 and small sebenza, just for your reference.

THANK YOU!

Damn that's nice. I think I will start with the small model 4. Looks like I could sell my small Sebenza to help finance a medium model 4 if need be.

Between the small and medium Carson I would probably have to stop looking at the For Sale forums ;)

I have the two medium M4s and they are just about the perfect size and weight for daily carry, even for somebody with smaller hands (like me). I may just want a small M4 for those times when I gotta be around rabid knife-phobic people.

Either way, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I have knives that cost more, but none that i enjoy using more.

I've got a large Model 4 and I'm with Bronco, it definitely is comfy to carry because of the handle's radiuses and contours. I don't have a medium Model 4 but have had the opportunity to examine a few up close and it does seem like a good size for EDC. The small one is too small for me. To each his own :)
