One of my favorite knife makers. Does anyone know whether he still makes knives or does repair? He doesn't have a current website. I would like to find his email address.

I met a guy a the last gun show I was at who was friends wih him, had a few of his customs on display along with some other custom makers. I dont think he said either way if he was still making / working on any. Would have like to get one but he wasnt really trying to sell them. Sorry im not much help but it was very interesting.

Thank all of you for your suggestions. CRKT was very nice but informed me that they were unable to provide the information. I will try the email.

Hey, Hi Mike!

Mike, the last I heard Kit was having some health problems and he was on a sabbatical. You can find out more at customknivesandguns.com.

Hope everything's okay with you ol' friend and I'm doing fine, just getting older! :)

Edit: Whoops! Looks like customknivesandgunsforums is no more.

Kit is a long time friend. He has had health problems over the last few years and has been unable to make knives at all during that time.
He was hoping to make it to Blade this year, but was unable to make the trip. Through all that he and Betty are doing OK and he hopes to attend Blade in 2014.
In 2012 he was voted into the Cutlery hall of fame not just for his skill, but also for how much he helped and encouraged other makers. Knives aside, it would be difficult to have a better friend.

I agree Bastid! Kit and I go back a long way and a better knifemaker and all around good guy would be very hard to find.

I suspect that many of the younger members aren't familiar with his work. Very occasionally one of his pieces comes up for sale. I try to snap them up when I'm able. You have to own one to understand.

Kit's been restoring an old Jeep for the past year or so and is basically finished with it and enjoying life.... :)

Custom Knives and Guns is alive and well with a new forum software upgrade....more to come. ;)
