Kit Carson

The older you get, you attend a lot more funerals than weddings.

I can't even begin to describe the agony this presents....weddings and baptisms and bar/bat mitzvahs are a lot more fun.

Funerals just make you feel more alone and vulnerable....Harvey McBurnette, Ralph "Rattler" Selvidio, Hugh Bartrug, Ron Gaston, William Defreest, Bob Loveless, Tommy Lee, Bob Lum, Tommy Hutton, J.P. Holmes....all friends that have gone past...J.P.'s passing tore my friggin' heart out....just wasn't fair...there isn't any "right" in this, Kit neither.....he had so much to give the world, and now....he is gone....just a waste is what it is....damn!!

Best Regards,

Steven Garsson

wrt good people who give to the world, life is never a waste.

I haven't been around in a while, I know Kit hasn't been either.
We were in touch, our birthdays were two years and two days apart. When I was returning home to NYC from living in Houston, Kit and Miss Betty let me stay overnight with them. They are a wonderful family and Kit was a great man. He will be greatly missed.

The CRKT M-16 was the knife that turned me on into the world of knives. Kit Carson was probably the first knife make/designer I ever heard of. What a disappointment.

If I am not mistaken it was Kit Carson who invented flippers for knives??? Did he also invent the LAWKS feature on CRKT knives?

I think LAWKS stands for (Ron) Lake And (Michael) Walker Knife Safety.

I just found this out. Kit's always been my favorite knife maker. When I first met him in chat, I didn't even know who he was, LOL! He was just one of the guys who loved to shoot & hunt. We just chewed the fat in the evenings along with a lot of other good folks. I drifted out of knives and back into my other hobbies.

RIP my friend, I will always cherish my lefty folders you made for me. :sentimental:

My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Carson. We should all leave the kind of impression on the world he did.

Happy Thanksgiving my friend....you are sorely missed....God Bless.
