Kit knives

Do any of you happen to know where I might find a knife kit with a kris blade. Also I'm trying to find a source for something to give a blade a dark finish. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Good luck on the kris...may be a while! Dependingon the size, many custom makers are willing to make blades to your specs and sell them as kits. Usually much more affordable than you'd think. As far as a darkened blade, you can use ferric chloride to give a "dirty etch" (as opposed to the finer etch of aqua regia, for example) and when applied to an entire blade it gives a wootz-like finish.
