I have paid a "knifemaker" membership payment yesterday but I guess it will take some time to process my account by mods. I would post this thread to gallery forum...

Here is a knife I'm working on right now: Rosewood grip, D2 vegetable knife. It is 60-61 HRC I assume as the factory sheet says about my temper...
The handle wood is going in acetone bath to dehydrate it. I think of some small brass pins to decorate and a lanyard hole...

It was in the same HT lot the knife below. They all turned out great.

Even after the payment is accepted, you need to go back into the profile settings and change your status manually.

Emre, this is copied from a post by the forum owner:

I especially like the knife with the pierced handle. Very nice!

I noticed this manual update, but there is no option there (for now I guess)..
I post here a screen capture...

I think that it will take a little while for the change to happen, as it is changed manually. When I got my gold I sat down on the computer and my name was gold, It was really quite surprising!

That d2 veggie knife has a nice size to it, I think that that would will suit it well. The handle cut out is very interesting on the second one. Nice work.

Thank you for kind replies sirs. I'll wait patiently (checking the CP every minute for sure :) )

A was not sure how would the pierced handle knife be, but it surprised the customer and me also. As a designer she designed the knife matching her kitchen. It was not my liking so much but I loved as it came from the buff... She phoned me yesterday night telling me "it is too handsome standing there" she had an urge to take some photos of the kitchen with that knife :D . When I get these photos I will post them on gallery hopefully.

The knife on progress for my sister has been polished waiting the wood dried.

hey that knife with the cut out handle is absolutely beautiful. Do you mind if I ask how you did it?

It is easy  No if you dont have a mill like me it is not :D You draw the shape of cutouts then you drill inside with small bits then remove remaining metals with file... Does it sound easy, yes... It's time consuming actually....

Hi Emre,

I thought that knife looked familiar, especially the pierced single piece one. Did I get your name right? How does it sound? Kind of trippy to be corresponding between Turkey and Hawaii and all the places in between.

Ya, the wooden sword project is hobbling along.

All the best, Phil

Yeah, I'd like to see a picture of the kitchen knife too! Meanwhile, that pierced handle is great. I have one coming up in the not-too-distant future too. ;) I hope it turns out as nice as yours.

Ok here it is:

Phil,
You're right, Emre is my name. The e's are spelled like the first vowel in "ash" word, not like "eve". May be you spell it right in Hawaiian but English speaking people cannot say it right, one of an employee is a British woman in my firm, living in Turkey for about 20 years. She cannot say it right even she speaks fluent Turkish....

Dave, I'm sure you will make it awesome, mine is only flat piercing but I dream of carving for handles but it is very early for that I guess, I cannot dare it now...
Best wishes,
Emre

Oh, sorry about that. No that was for Dave, who doesn't want his wife to see your sister's knife. I was trying to make the sounds of a chicken. :o
