We recently moved (7 months ago) to this area and had a house built. While we were in the building process we lived with my wifes inlaws. Their only knife was from an infomercial circa 1981. So I decided to make them this once our house was finished. This is the first knife in about a year for me and 11 or 12 total. 1/8" CPM154, black paper micarta and SS fittings. I took the edge too thin pre-heat treat as when it came out of oven it was warped. I thought when I smushed it on quench plates it fixed it but noticed it was still warped during temper. So I tried to fix with ball peen. Instead of one warp I had 100 smaller warps. So I had to grind off about 1/8 of the belly. Also have a hard time making each side of the scales symmetrical but they are close.
Critique if you will please.

I think it looks great. It may be an artifact of the camera but it looks like the edge has a slight corner in the middle that might be undesirable.

I noticed the same thing. It looks like the blade is made up of basically two straightish sections with a kink in the middle. I think you will probably find that a smooth curve in the edge is better.
How thick is it behind the edge?
I really like the black paper micarta with the stainless bolster and pins.

It was basically sharp before I HT'd it.
