Really nice, should make a good utility for the kitchen. Really nice work, Sylvestor.

Sylvester,

Thats nice, I hope my wife doesn't see that, or I'll have to try and make her one.How long is that bad boy.

Keep them coming,

Bill

I agree that's a classy looking kitchen knife......so classy, in fact, that it'll make the WHOLE KITCHEN look better.

Nice Knife, The trouble with nice kitchen knives like that is somebody will want you to make an 8 peice set.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!
I like cool looking kitchen knives. They get used more than most knives and you will know if your heat treat is done correctly. If it will hold up to a womans abuse in the kitchen then it will hold up to anything!!!!
I hope no woman get mad at me for that comment,I have just seen to many nice kitchen knives thrown in drawers and they wonder why they don't stay sharp:D :D

Sylvester,
Another great kitchen knife, thanks for posting. I have just started to appreciate the nice handmade kitchen cutlery like you and Disco Stu , and others have posted recently. It is also great to have them to show to the girlfriend when she ask what I'm doing on the internet.
Bruce is right about the use and abuse they see. My sweetie likes to cook and likes knives but, she makes me cringe when she uses them. She has this Julia Chen utility knife (looks like a narrow blade, lightwt.cleaver) that she uses to whack a plug into coconuts and then uses the heel of the blade to pry it out. So keep'em coming.
Regards, Greg

nice blade sly, yes women do abuse knives a lot. i am getting ready for the nov 2-4 contemporary crafts market were i sell a good deal of my culinary blades. i am ready for the two most asked questions  is that sharp? and even better is, can i put them in the dishwasher? :( no a dishwasher is for dishes, that why they don't call it a knifewasher :D

Sylvester,

I know you said that it is a kitchen knife but that would look good in stingray skin pouch sheath hanging from somones belt!:)
Very cool knife.

Wow, two kitchen knives in one week! I think we're onto something here...

Sylvester, that's a winner. The edge has just the right amount of belly to make it a vegetable cutting hero, and it's sleek too. Your bolsters and pins work very well with the scales. Excellent, thanks for sharing. I hate it when my wife sees the kitchen knives people here make... :D

Sylvester, that's a fine looking knife! I like the design a lot. As others have said, now you'll need to make a set of them, or at least a paring knife or two and maybe something a little larger like a sandwich knife. Nice work.:)

Laurence, why don't you make handles out of something like paper micarta then they could throw them in the dishwasher? Oh, wait a minute....maybe you're using carbon steel for the blades in which case they wouldn't do well in the dishwasher.....nevermind! :p
