I have been trying to come up with a good KITH design and I think I have it, here are my plans so far, my awesome drawing has a lot of the information. :D

I have some really nice Australian Black Jade for the scales. I bought some Mike Sakmar 2 color Mokume Gane for the bolsters. The Jade I have is known as the toughest stone there is and looks great also.

I'm considering hidden pins or lots of glue rivets for attachment, I'm still not sure. I can drill the Jade and Mokume but I'm still not too sure about pins.

For the steel I'm using .125" thick O1. I plan on a plungeless grind or one with a ricasso that allows for a fully sharpened edge as shown in the drawing. It will be 7" long with a 4" handle; 1.25" tall.

What do you guys think, I appreciate the input. I promise the knife will look better than the drawing!

thats nice. However, I don't think that it is good enough for the big boy KITH, and so you should switch to the newbie KITH. ;);););););););)

If he's thinking anything like me.... yep it's crap! Needs to be in the newbie kith so us amatuers can get it from the draw and see what a piece of crap it really is! :D:D:D:D:D

In all seriousness. Is this a plungeless chisel grind? Or will this be the debut of the patented fairly "Double Chisel Grind"??? ;):D

It sure looks good on paper. love the blade shape. I'll make sure bladsmith gets my address.

Looks awesome Daniel! I think 6 or 7 3/32" pins domed with collars would look awesome on it. I forget that you are a rock hound, any chance you might offer something with stone in your regular lineup?

Nice Daniel! I like the mokume bolster idea and the overall shape. Looks like it will be a good one!

Yea sure, it's ok,... I suppose...

But what if there were a few DIAMONDS set into that gold inlaid mokume bolster? Huh? Great idea, right? I don't know where these sweet ideas come from but I'm told all the time I'm full of it. Creativity that is, I'm sure.

It will be ground on both sides, for the KITH I decided to go double chisel. :D I used to grind them on both sides and still do an occasional one.

I just tried this grind on a cleaver and I love it, it is easy to sharpen and has that smooth geometry that I'm liking more and more.

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone, they are much appreciated.

I have my steel and Mokume ordered and the Jade cut into slabs, it's going to be fun!

I was reading more about the Jade I have and it was compared to Ceramic Zirconium in toughness, tough stuff! I have cut a few cabs and re-scaled a Buck 110 with this Jade and it looks great, it is pure black and takes a great polish. Jade is known as a tough stone to work, it has a tendency to "orange peel" but so far this jade has been a pleasure to work with.

Looks like a neat little knife, Daniel; just the kind I like! Should be cool with the Jade and Mokume!

I can't wait to see the rare Daniel Double Chisel :) design is very nice....can hardly wait to see this one going :)
