Review Kizer Feist

They have a Shamwari now that comes with an Insingo like blade. I can slow roll my Shamwari open no problem.

@Victorian Squid Is that anodization on that Feist? I see you bought a few Shamwaris. Mine is suuuupppeeerr tight to take apart. I bought mine used and somehow the pivot was rusted shut. The pivot collar got scratches while trying to get the pivot apart, so it was sanded to the bare Ti. That is why I had to reanodize the pivot collar blue. (To match the standoff) I like he Gareth Bull Warlock too, it seems very similar to the Shamwari.

miso2 miso2 Check this out. I recently sold my Boker Exskelibur framelock to a good friend so I needed a new knife to replace it as my larger front flipper. I got this Katsu Titanium framelock to take over this role. Check it out, I cannot believe how cheap it is for what you get.

Hey....I recognize that knife....and my coaster :) I was also surprised at how well this folder was made, last I heard it did make the trip north safely, but in pieces in order to do the border crossing, hopefully it was able to reassemble back to it's original fit and finish?
And I found the blade to be ground fairly thin and cut well, it was overall too large a folder for me is the only reason she moved on to a new home.

edited to add, I had been interested in the OP's Feist but the lack of a guard kept me from every buying one, not that I am accident prone, but, I just don't like to take chances with my digits :)

You caught me lol. Yes the knife went back together flawlessly and thank you for the amazing edge you put on it. You are also truly a master of the martial art of packaging knives for shipping!

It is quite a large knife but outstandingly built for the $100 price tag. If I was more of a 4 inch folder type of guy I would be carrying it all the time. As it stands it is abit of a safe queen but serves as a constant reminder of how beautiful and perfect a knife can be made for 100$. It is an even better value than knives like Kizers with a construction that is atleast as good if not better. One thing I noticed is that the knife is wider than it has to be as there is alot of space on either side of the closed blade between the blade and the scale.

I actually anodized the clip purple which doesn’t show great in this photo.

As for the feist it just barely fits as a 4 finger grip and I have size L hands. Still I wouldn’t want to stab with it.

The edge is now very very thin.
I cannot measure the thickness behind the edge accurately with my caliper.
It is almost zero-ground.

The original blade was not too bad.
But the reground blade easily sinks into thick medium like cardboard or carrot.
What a performance boost!

Hey Miso,
That regrind looks awesome! Big fan of the Feist myself, but really wish it was a better slicer - who did the regrind?

Thanks Miso, I figured he'd be the man! I'm gonna hit him up to regrind my Feist. How much was the regrind?

Mine was $213.35 with #220 finish ans hollow grind, and international shipping.
So probably $180 for the work.

One complaint.

The scale texture is a bit too subtle.
I guess it is blasted with really fine beads.
The grip is fine when wet, but becomes somewhat slippery when hands are very dry.

Using larger beads like CRK or adding some millings would be nice.

From left, Boker Exskelibur, Feist, Sebenza.
