Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with the KI306? I cannot find much info on this or any reviews on it.

Thanks all and God bless,

Adam

I don't have any direct experience with that specific model, Adam. But I've handled a lot of Kizers and I've yet to be disappointed. AUS-8 is serviceable steel. so that should be fine. The only question in my mind is how easy the blade will be to deploy one-handed using the nail nick. I posted a borrowed pic for reference:

Let us know how it turns out if you decide to buy one. :)

Actually, for the role I have in mind two-handed opening is preferred.

This thing looks sweet on paper!

My guess is that it will open easily one handed. My A.G. Russell Sunfish has a much smaller nick (or thumb depression, as I like to call it) and is super easy to one-hand.

That's actually a really interesting offering from Kizer - their bread-and-butter has always been framelock flippers, with some thumbstud openers and liner locks mixed in. I really like the aesthetics of the nail-nick, and it looks like it'll open one-handed if needed.

Two things jump out at me. First, AUS-8 is a strange choice in steel; it's not a bad steel, but their other models run S35VN at the same pricepoint. It could be that's it's an older model; I think their earlier knives generally ran AUS-8 and VG-10, probably before they had secured access to the S35VN they primarily use now. Secondly, the handle thickness is listed at .30". That's very thin, about the same as the Titanium Chaparrals, and slimmer than the CF/G10 ones, definitely a selling point for me. If you decide to pick it up, definitely let us know how it holds up.

I don't have this knife but I have the Ki3310 Mistrial with a nail nick and it's a two hand opener.

I've looked at this 306 several times and held off because it was tip down only.
