Kizer knives, what's your opinion of them?

Would be interesting to see if they really are importing steels or if they are using equivalents. If its the latter it'd be a bit more honest if they said as much. 50HRC is darn soft.

I definitely think its a typo. The rest of Kizer's S35VN is listed at 58-60, which seems to be the case in the ones I've owned.

Two questions. Sorry I didn't wade through previous comment to see if this was already addressed.
Do customers have to send their knife all the way back to China for repairs. Time? Cost?
Have the blade steels been actually tested to verify that they are really using S35v and VG10?

Hi, all:

Thought I'd jump in quickly about Tomcat knives. These knives are designed by Mr. Tom Stokes who has been designing knives for over 10 years based out of Virginia.

Re. Website, we are working on overhauling it and should be complete by later this year.

Thank you.

Kizer

Hi, Mwhich50:

Warranty exchange is handled right here in the US, we do have a warranty center. If you need warranty exchange, you can contact either your place of purchase or contact me directly.

We are in the process of adding a full repair center in the US as well, this should be ironed out by the 2nd half of this year.

Re: Blade Steel, this has been discussed many times here on the forum. We stand behind our product and authenticity of our material. If you are asking whether we have tested the steel, we get the steel directly from the source so no testing is needed.

Thank you.

Kizer.

@Hackenslash ----> Very much agree with you on all points. I see nothing wrong in it, I'll be happy to see them playing by the rules just as everybody else.
I don't think they control the retailer's prices but I could be wrong. I don't care about liner locks and bearings, nor flippers, the Ki4450A1 BHQ is selling is exactly what I would like in a knife (+wave... :D ).
Whatever BHQ is selling it for... I don't know... Seems to me as a reasonable price, its what I would pay for what I'm looking for in a folder, but I'll agree with you on this-one too - considering the trend, this is IMO $100-$120 knife.
I'm waiting for two collectible SOGs and two folders and don't want to shell out money for this ( Ki4450A1 ) as much as I like it, otherwise it would be on it's way to my mailbox already... :D
But I'm definitely getting this-one and the one I was looking for before.

Hey Kizer, thanks for the input ! I'm glad you guys are on top of this and responding to customer's opinions and questions !

So directly from Crucible and Takefu Steel?

FYI I did search and found a forum member had contacted Crucible and they confirmed that Kizer does purchase from them. Definitely good to hear and will have to pick up a knife now.

BluesBender did the leg work, more info in this thread:

Kizer needs a proper catalog IMO. I know it's been said several times that their website is confusing or looks unfinished/missing info and they're working on it, but presentation also matters.

The Cucchiara collabs are a step into the right direction. Keep the numbers aside for identification, but they need to name their models.

Kizer is the real deal, boys and girls, and they're making all the right moves. I think we can put our doubts to rest now. I know I have.

Hey my post managed to grab kizer's attention. While they're paying attention I'd like to test something here. Kizer, I need a new clip for my Ki423. Is that possible, and what will it cost me?
PS: this is also the quality of commitment I was talking about. Most the posts I've seen so far have a Kizer rep personally watching it and answering questions. Not many companies do this, and those who do certainly dont get to most (if not all) major posts about them :)

I don't have problem with Chinese companies that don't blatantly copy designs. I don't care if it's Kizer, Reate or whoever else, as long as they play by the rules ............ the important part to me is to be original or proven, without being a copy.................I'd buy those if they are made by Chinese company as long as the company isn't KJ, Adai and so on well known counterfeiters :D

Says the guy rocking a ganzo bedlam clone with the counterfeit axis lock............

I bought it long time ago, my last counterfeit knife, it was $16, not $160 or whatever,
that you gave yesterday to Kevin John, and also you're not quoting my explanation why I bought it...

What exactly is your problem ? You going to talk about the thread subject or you going to talk about moral here ?

yes, I have to agree with you 100% on this. Almost every knife company has a .PDF catalog now.

What do I have to do to get a clip for my ki423 and what will it cost me?

New Upcoming Kizer: VALKYRIE.

Looks like it will be a limited edition, single-dealer exclusive. So I don't want to copy/paste the sketches and preliminary specifications from that dealer's website.

However, you just gotta' search for it!
