I know a lot of you have an aversion to imported knives from certain countries and that is fine. However I just participated in a passaround with two Kizer Kyer folders and was truly impressed. If you are looking for a well made folder for not much money these knives are fantastic. Instead of typing their attributes again I am just going to copy and post some of what I discovered about them.
I am a slipjoint kind of guy but also like folders and have a few.
The materials used to produce both knives are top notch. The V4484A1 is a manual flipper that is smooth as butter comparable to ZT's and other well loved knives. It has milled G10 scales, a titanium spring pocket clip tip up right carry, a 3.42" VG-10 drop point blade with a nice fat belly, SS liners, ball bearing pivot system and utilizes a liner lock
The K4484A1 is close to the same knife but with a few upgrades. It has milled titanium scales that IMO are simply beautiful, the same design drop point blade only in S35VN, the clip is tip up or tip down and it utilizes a frame lock.
In appearance both knives seem very well made and are very good looking. Fit and finish have been executed with precision no gaps, blades are very well centered. The spacers are not only attractive but are also placed perfectly. Lockup on both knives is about a 30 and very smooth both in locking and releasing. The feel of both knives is light but very solid and the design lends itself to a very comfortable in the hand experience and ride in your pocket so well you barely notice them. I must repeat myself on the flipping performance you just couldn't ask for better. If there is one thing negative it would be that the jimping on the spine is less aggressive than I would like. However that being said with the extended choil and it's proximity to the finger grove make it almost impossible for your hand to slip and cut yourself. All said these are both great knives at a price that is well below there quality. I only cut some cardboard with these knives and both are great slicers. Either of these would make a fine EDC with a variety of uses from opening mail to field dressing game. I found the G10 version for $80 and the titanium version for $184. These were quick look ups and you might find them for less. These knives won me over and I will be ordering the titanium version.
