Yes it is a new production run of an "older" model.
Don't mind the tip-down on this one as it's a smaller edc knife without a flipper.

I agree with the majority of the comments. Tip up carry is the only way I carry a knife. I have the Ki403A2, and it is an awesome knife. The reason I bought it was that it combined your upscale material and workmanship with the tip down carry.

This looks like a nice knife, but I don't understand why it doesn't have the option for carrying the knife both ways.
