Kizer vs Carson?

Hey guys, I've been saving up my tips for a couple weeks and I'm thinking of picking up another nice flipper. Right now I'm kind of seesawing between one of the new Kizer Kanes, or a Carson Boiling, both of which I've heard some good things about. I was wondering if anybody had a recommendation for one or the other, or if you all think it would be better to just keep saving up until I can afford something nicer.

Personally, I'd save up for something nicer.

However, the Boiling is one hell of a knife for the money. It has some really great flipping action.

I agree. To be honest, however, I can't speak for the Carson. I'm not sure any of us can besides BB perhaps. I've never even heard of them until now. The Boiling on paper looks very interesting. But I know nothing about the company that stands behind it. I'd have to do a lot more research before I bought a product from them.

I love my Carson Tech, one of the best flippers I own. I've had absolutely no problems with it and would highly recommend it. That said I don't think you can go wrong with either and I'd love to see the Intrepid or Kane.

Thank you, Mike. :) That knife is a real beauty . . . and it's quite large given that it only weighs 4.1 ounces. I'm impressed. Here are the specs:

Overall length: 8.86" (225 mm)
Closed length: 4.92" (125 mm)
Blade length: 3.94" (100 mm)
Blade thickness: 0.118" (3 mm)
Blade material: S35-VN stainless steel
Blade hardness: 60-61 HRC
Handle material: 6Al4V titanium
Clip material: 6Al4V titanium
Weight: 4.1 oz. (116 g)

I did a little more research on Carson Tech and came up with this thread:

Yet another Chinese manufacturer to pay attention to. I learn something new every day! :D
