Couldn't find a manufacturers forum for Kizlyar so please feel free to move if I have this is the wrong spot.

Wondering if anyone has any experience with Kizlyar Supreme. Found the Sensei in D2 and really like the look of the knife but reviews online are very hard to find. Anyone have one or another Kizlyar produced knife that could provide some details? Performance, comfort, ergos, quality etc...you know all the good stuff.

Thanks for your help!

Bought the Bloke folder but haven't used it yet, but I would say good value for the $. Got a fixed blade, black with D2, I think it's the Delta model. Works fine, wasn't that sharp out of the box. There is a great you tube vid on it where the guy puts it through the ringer and it holds up great! Mine stays in my pack in the car.

Russian manufacturers and in particular Kyzliar caught my attention while ago due to very high scores within their feedback....

Recently I decide to "pull the trigger" on two models Kyzliar Legioner, which is multipurpose utility combat knife with drop point blade, black leather washers handle, finished with robust steel pommel that can be used for hammering etc.its also equipped with double guard for safety,,,, sheath is made out of solid thick leather. This knife is made to be used in harsh conditions for wide range of tasks, chopping, cutting, precise slicing, stabbing too due to secondary false edge, (but not suitable for batoning as it's biting quickly into batoning wood. Second one is military dagger KO1 which is shorter version of Ko2 - longer dagger, with very similar handle (leather washers) significant robust pommel, difference is only with double hand guard... (easy to Google pictures) not necessary to describe it...Kyzliar KO1 is serial numbered, mine comes with Kydex sheath, which I am not very fond of, but they made also leather variations of sheaths on lot of knives, same as with varying handle materials (depend on seller offers) this dagger can be used on very limited number of tasks due to its nature, blade is strong enough but very lightweight and thin - in order to serve it's purpose of easy penetration (have that only for collection purpose obviously.

Overall: sharpness on Kyzliars is sufficient and very sharp out of box both knives are easily shaving hair on forearm, fit tightly into sheaths, no rattling noises even from Kydex. Steel is Russian corrosion resistant 65*13,,, what I have noticed, blades are very easy to clean, there is nearly no residue particles hindering look even after chopping, cutting wood.Price tags are within 100 € range and it must be also considered these are not your ordinary mass production knives, they are handmade, no two are the same and knives of this quality I must say are bargain price for what you get.

I was very impressed and only can recommend these. Most of models are designed for military and law enforcement,(their biggest customer are Russian Spetznaz units, including Russian president Vladimir V.Putin, who openly favours this brand and he carrying Kyzliar knives himself ) but Kyzliar do make some civilian hunting and beautiful engraved knives.

So are we talking Kizlyar or Kizlyar Supreme here as they are two unrelated companies? Kizlyar is a Russian manufacturing company that produces knives at its own plant in Russia while Kizlyar Supreme as far as I know is a relatively new "trading" company that gets all its knives produced in China. Kizlyar is essentially a town somewhere in Russian Northern Caucasus region thus you can have as many "Kizlyars" as you like as long as you add something to the name like "Supreme", "Superior", "Extreme", "Outdoor" or even just "Knives" to name just a few... I am not saying Kizlyar Supreme knives have any problems or are not a good value, just trying to clarify the issue a bit. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, I have a Kizlyar Supreme Savage (D2 steel version) and the box and blade both state "Made in Russia," so I never questioned its true origins. I bought it around the same time as a Zero Tolerance 0160 Shifter, making them my most expensive fixed blades at the time of purchase. The Kizlyar is at least equal to the ZT in terms of workmanship. No finish flaws, no misaligned scales or screws, nice kydex (or similar) sheath, and excellent ergonomics. However, I bought it out of curiosity and for collecting purposes, so I can't claim to have used it in any meaningful way.

I would buy another without hesitation, but there are so many other "must have" knives I have my eye on at the moment.

Curious about the Kizlyar SUPREME line - sorry should have made that more clear.

I have been toying with picking up the Whisper but never seem to pull the trigger on it.

I have a Kizlyar Supreme Ute. Nice knife, very well made - built like a tank, actually. I think it was a decent, but not outstanding, value for what I paid for it.

I carried it for a few weeks when it was new, didn't quite make it into the EDC rotation, but didn't miss by much. It has a built-in flathead screwdriver, a rather unique feature for a non-SAK/multitool.

Kizlyar and Kizlyar Supreme are two different manufacturers.

Kizlyar located at Kizlyar city, Dagestan republic Russian Federation and has its owh factory.
Also makes ethnic daggers, sabres, shashkas.

Kizlyar Supreme- headquarters at St.Petersburg and all manufacture at China. So means they do nothing.
Only stamp their brand name on chinese knives. Maybe they make the design for these knives though.

I buy only Kizlyar Dagestan.

I have a kizlyar supreme knife that says "made in Russia" on it. Not "designed in Russia, manufactured in China"
Can you say what knife specifically it is and if it's a folder or fixed blade? I'm working on a theory of Kizlyar Supreme knives and so far it's that only their fixed blades are truly Russian made.

Ok so this thread has me confused about Kizlyar and Kizlyar Supreme is it kinda like Boker and Boker Plus same company but one is the made in house the other is the made in a factory else where or is it truly two different companies?

No I would say Kizlyar and Kizlyar Supreme are different companies who were started at different times, (Kizlyar Supreme in the early 2000s, and Kizlyar in early 90s) and are based in different cities. (Kizlyar Supreme in St. Petersburg, and Kizlyar is actually based in Kizlyar, Russia)

I wish some of these guys would offer proof that Kizylar SUPREME knives are made in China! Go to their website and see if it says anything about China. BTW It's a good site and gives a bit of information about the company. And, their knives are clearly marked "Made in Russia". So let's see some evidence to the contrary, or put that myth to rest. Please.
