I read some time ago that KJ E. and Frost used slightly different steels in their knives. With Frost using 1095 (equivalent) for carbon, O1 (equivalent) for the core of their laminated blades and 12c27 for their stainless and KJ Erikson using 1080 (equivalent) for carbon and 12c27mod for stainless.

Now that theyve amalgamated has this changed? I'd assume they'd stick to one type of carbon/stainless to simplify production, does anyone know what they settled on?

it seems to me that although they are now "one company", they are doing what seems common and continuing to operate as two seperate companies. much like victorinox now owning wenger, but both companies seem to operate seperately.

as far as i can tell, the blades are still marked either frosts or KJ, so i would assume they still use different steels.

BUT i don't actually know, this is all a guess.

Not sure but they probably only shared name in order to save on marketing. I think I'd have a hard time remembering which knife is done by who. Everyone calls both mora anyway.
