Klean Kanteen stainless cap?

Anyone have the stainless cap for the Klean Kanteen?

I got one with the regular plastic loop cap and I must say I'm disapointed. You tighten it too far and it jumps the threads and pops out. I can even pull the cap off by pulling on it. I love the bottle itself but I think they need to redisign the cap. I'm not about to trust my water to a container with a faulty closure.

Perhaps the stainless cap doesn't have this problem.

Not sure, but I think it depends on the bottle size as to which cap it comes with. The larger bottles should have the cap with the stainless threads.

I got the 40oz with the loop cap and it has stainless threads. Difficult to know when to stop tightening it but it seals pretty damn well so I never have to tighten it super tight. I will say I was worried about tightening it too much and breaking the plastic attached to the steel threads.

Weird.

I just got mine the other day from REI and it has plastic threads on the cap. It's a 40oz.

Well good thing REI stands for Return Every Item.

LOL. That is strange. I thought they all had steel threads. They should carry them. If not another retailer will or maybe even that one place we dare not mention.....

I dunno... I have one of the plastic caps that gets used from time to time on either a 27 oz or a 40 oz bottle. I've never had a problem with it. Perhaps ilbruche just got a cruddy one. New caps can be ordered from the products official website, too.

I have that set up and have ZERO issues with it. Fits tight, doesn't leak and no issues you mention above...

I have three different sizes and all have the steel threads. To be honest, I like the Kleen Kanteens, but even with the steel threaded caps they're pretty messy when removing to drink. I much prefer the larger Guyot design.

I have one with a plastic loop cap and have never run into the issue you mentioned. Mine seals up just fine.
