Got an email yesterday from Klim about hand-crafted custom knives. Klim is known for making very good snowmobile and off-road gear. While they look pretty nice, I know nothing about fixed blades. http://www.klim.com/Cat/Accessory/S...656188250514435443502325978217967464142723884

Anyone know who is making these?

I shot them a message and we will see how they respond.
I asked the following:
What steel is used?
How hard is the steel ran?
What material is the sheath?
And who makes the knives for you?

Hopefully, if they are at all interested in offering something decent, they will be able to get those answers in short order.

There are plenty of options for smaller and compact fixed blades. Depending on your intended usage, some are more suited to you and some less so.

Are you in the market for one, if so:
what is your intended usage?
how far do you see yourself pushing your knife (how demanding on a knife are you)?
can you sharpen a knife?
What's your price range?

I've got a gore-tex snowmobile coat from them that is incredible. I'd say by the looks that they are made by Tops. The description mentions they are 1095 so that combined with many similarities to other Tops models I'd say its very likely them.

They do look similar to Tops. Same steel used and made in Idaho. I figured someone might recognize the manufacturer.

I'm not necessarily looking for a fixed blade right now, but I will say they did catch my eye for sure. I have had and still use Klim gear and guess it kind of adds to the appeal.

Reply from Klim:
"The knives are built by SCAR BLADES in Idaho Falls. (We’ll add this to the web page asap)

The blades comes with an unconditional lifetime warranty through Scar and they also will sharpen and refurbish for free if the customer pays shipping."

After that they gave a copy/paste of the item description off of their website.
