Up for sale is my Klotzli Swiss Border Guard folder. I'm the original owner, having bought this from AG Russell in March of '21. The knife has been carried and used, though neither frequently nor hard. It still bears a sharp factory edge on its high hollow ground Bohler N690 harpoon style blade (Rockwell 59). This is a button lock folder with smooth, free action in both directions. Centering is dead on. The knife is right-hand tip up carry only. The blade is pristine though the Titanium handle shows some light signs of use (see the last two pics and notes). The knife is in functionally excellent condition and comes with all the original packaging and paperwork including COA. The pinch-clamped blue leather tail has been removed by cutting but is included.
The tiny clip screws with their odd drive patterns have been replaced with T6 compatible screws that match the original threads. The original pivot and body screws are T8, making everything now easily serviceable.
This is a very solid, well-built piece, designed by Dietmar Pohl and handmade in Klotzli's own Swiss workshop. Klotzli is a family owned business that has been making knives since 1846. I paid $388.95 all in for this SBG and they are currently available new at that price and up. I'm looking for $280 for this one which is less than 3/4 of new pricing.
Shipping by USPS Priority mail, insured to US addresses only is included. Payment is to be by PayPal G&S only (no notes, please) and shipping is restricted to the US and PP listed address only. You must be at least 18 years of age and know your local knife laws in order to purchase. Please post "I'll take it" if you want the knife, followed by a PM or Profile Message to obtain my PP address. Reasonable offers will be similarly entertained (not in thread, please) but lowballs will be ignored. Prompt communication and payment is expected to secure any deal and I reserve the right to sell to whom I choose. Sorry, no trades considered at this time as I'm trying to balance the books a bit against recent purchases and have too many damn knives anyway.
Thanks for looking.
As to the signs of use, I had to work with the phone cam angle, lighting, and enhance to get the snail trails on the presentation side to show up strongly. They're definitely there, but not overwhelmingly so IMHO.
On the reverse side, I stupidly let the clip rotate after removing the first screw and got a bit of a light scratch adjacent to where the clip touches the handle slab. Again, I had to work to get it to show in the pic at all. You'll note that these marks on either side do not show in the preceding pics.
