Leather, balsa and basswood strops for the KME sharpening system.
Backing plates are made from 1/8" thick aluminum bar stock. They were cut to length (1" x 4") and have a brushed finish. The leather used is a premium grade 4-5oz veg tanned leather that is very dense, takes diamond as well as cbn pastes and sprays well! The overall thickness is so close to the KME stones that I don't see a need to adjust the angle, you can of course compensate if you'd like using a phone app, angle cube, stone thickness compensator etc.
For the balsa and basswood strops I used either 1/16" balsa or basswood and attached with 3m 950 industrial adhesive.
Would like to get $15 per strop shipped. If you buy three or more there will be a price break (please contact me for total if you want three or more).
