Just received my KME knife sharpening diamond system today, also ordered the base, the Hewlett jewelstik. Now I just have to learn to use it properly, guess im going to go get some cheap knives to practice on.
 
Don't forget to use the sharpie trick and sharpie up those bevels to see where your hitting and a jeweler's loup helps in seeing what you have done by giving you more detail in whats going on.

+1 on this. Especially if trying to find and sharpening an existing edge. Works very well.

I don't have the diamond stones, but I'll bet it will work better than the standard ceramic stones.
