I just received my new KMG grinder. WOW is this thing built tuff. Now I need some advice/info on a stand for it. Can you guys post some pictures of your stands for the grinder? Any suggestioins on building a stand for this massive grinder (plans/dimensions/materials). I wanted to build a post type stand so that I could mount a hinge system on the base plate and turn it on its side for horizontal grinding. Anybody tried this? Thanks for the help/suggestions. I cannot wait to get started grinding on this grinder :)
Thanks

I got the base plate and recommend that if you didn't have something else to use. A good sturdy metal table is a must with the KMG in my opinion, or at the lease a nice heavy lumber wood table with a wide stance.

I made a base out of MDF. It is just 2'x2'x1.5" and it fits my KMG, motor and tool tree just fine. As far as a hinge to tilt the KMG?? I myself would not even consider it as it is just too heavy?

Here is what I did for my Bader. It works great. I have since fitted the stand with a work lite. I made it high enough to be able to work standing up without bending over. I also have a stool that is just the right height so that I can sit and grind if desired. This may give you some ideas for a stand of your own.

I did get the base plate. I would like a moveable table or stand but I am concerned about the grinder being staedy while working.
Thanks Guys
