Kmg question

I'm looking at building a grinder but saw where I can get a Kmg with a platen and no motor for $750. I would rather have a direct drive and this looks like it's not. Anyone converted it? I already have a contact wheel. I can get a motor and vfd for around $250 so I could have the whole setup for around $1000.

The KMG can be set up for direct drive. Just call Rob and tell him what you're looking for. He's a great guy to deal with and will know exactly what you want.

Just out of curiosity: you already have a drive wheel and plans for a vfd and motor plus building a plate for your motor. Have you ever thought about the g.i.b. or eerf?

I have thought of building one but I just saw the KMG for 750 and thought it would be nice. Do the GIB's accept the same attachments as the KMG?

If you only need a solid chassis, look up the Oregon Blade Maker grinder. For $500, I've had zero complaints with it so far
