KMG questions

I have my small wheel attachment on the same tooling arm as my large contact wheel. I just flip it over to use the other attachment and it never seems to get in the way....just an idea for the future!

Thanks for the good idea I might try that. Less money to get into a small wheel attachment would be great!

No loctite here and no prolem.
Good purchase.

Cool... I didn't get any! I figured I might want to remove it in case I wanted to paint it or whatever. I did get some lock washers though, but as I just mentioned they are the wrong size.

They are getting measured, I said guess because I've gotten the wrong parts for stuff before. :)

This is trip three to the hardware store for me for this, another 60 mile trip and it is about to start snowing. I don't mind, I'm really amped to finally get this, just want to be grinding tonight! :D

OK so I just got back from the hardware store and I got the WRONG bolts!

I just don't get it, the ones I thought were 1/4" are slightly bigger and the ones I thought were 1/2" are too big!
"
What are they metric or something? They didn't have any 5/16" or 7/16" bolts...

It's hard thinking of everything, but at the price of gas, you could have had one of these already.

I like having a list planned out before I go or I will miss something for sure.

and whenever I gut screws, I get a bunch extra, eventually I can do projects direct from my inventory...

I think that rob thinks and works in inches, not metric.

True... I don't go out without a list, I measured everything 3 times also. I used to work in construction so I know how important planning and measuring are.

Yep, extras too.
I figure 1/4" across meant 1/4" bolt but that didn't work. I knew the 1/2" were too big but it was either that or 3/8" at the store and that was way off. I hope I don't have to order freakin' bolts!

No big deal, I e-mailed KMG and I'm sure they will be back with the info soon.

1234568910, Thanks for the help I appreciate any I can get! :D

Sorry but I think you need to find a better store ;)

Not sure where you're going but do you have a Tractor Supply Company or Ace/True Value nearby? Any of them would have a better selection of hardware including Grade 5 and 8 usually. Anything worth doing right is at least worth Grade 5's :)

I'm still a bit confused though.. are you just looking for the bolts to attach it to a work surface? Those are the only screws for the grinder body that didn't come with mine, but I didn't buy the whole setup since I went with a 3ph/3hp Baldor.

If it's the mounting base and 1/2 is the best you can do, drill out the existing holes to a larger size.

There is an Ace nearby but they close at 5:30 and I didn't get done with work until around then. I'm going to try them tomorrow morning.

I have the correct bolts to attach it to my bench. I just need the ones to bolt it together.

Thanks Cpirtle for the help. :)

No problem, just suprised that it didn't come assembled. Mine was boxed bolted to a piece of plywood 90% assembled. Maybe because it only had to ship 3 hours away or it's different when you buy the whole setup like you did.

After as many trips as you've made I would throw the whole shebang in your car and take it with you. Those stores always have someone anxious to help out with a project.

I'm sure Rob will get you squared away, they've always been great with my questions.

I'm sure I'll get it figured out soon, I do wish such an expensive piece of equipment came with the bolts or at least a parts list.
