KMG tooling arm

I love my KMG and never thought it much problem. Maybe use these handles instead of the bolts to put the tooling arm on. Here is a link to an adj. handle like what comes on the KMG

Dan,

Thanks for the link to the handles. I ordered a Disk Grinder work rest set-up from Beaumont Metal Works (KMG) earlier this year and one of the handles was stripped and wouldn't work correctly. Rob asked me to return the defective handle for a new one in exchange. It would be simpler to me to just purchase a new one than deal with a writing an letter, packaging, paying shipping, going to drop of the package, etc. I assumed they would be available at the major industrial supply houses, but now I don't have to search.

Here is a photo of my tool rest made out of aluminum for my grinder. Larry Lehman

 This! I have these little handles on all of the tooling arms to which I'm likely to attach a work rest. The rest slides on and off in a few seconds.

Larryz, looks like you have that "stacked receiver" mod already- did you get the parts from KMG, or make them up yourself?

I would love to add that to my KMG. Not sure my fab skills are up to par though especially alignment wise. We'll see.
Of course I'd buy the mod from Beaumont in a second if they made it.

The rest is shown on my Polar bear forge grinder and not my KMG. It looks like the holes to be drilled for this mod. are clearance holes and not threaded so the drilling might not be so critical. I would put a layer of painters tape on a toolbar and set it between the verticals before tightening the 1/4 x 5 inch threaded bolt so the toolbar will not bind. I'm sure that Patrice could make up these pieces. His surface grinder conversion to belt took much more talent and he did that . Larry Lehman

Patrice, Please send a photo when you make the modification. Someone is going to make up a bunch of these as a kit and it will sell like crazy. You are a talented guy. Good luck, Larry

I will share my journey Larry that's for sure. Not until this autumn though so someone might do it before that.
