Kmg vs pheer

I would buy a TW-90 over any other grinder.

If I were trying to keep the price down, I would go with the Esteem over the KMG.

^^ I have a Pheer 427, 2hp motor, VFD, Small wheel attachments, and a custom workrest....all for about $100 less thatn it would have cost for a Wilmont. I ended up making a hinged baseplate to mount the grinder that allows me to tip it horizontally....all in was about $50 in raw materials. Go Pheer and don't look back:-) Jose is great to work with, kept me up to speed on the build progress, and makes a helluva grinder!!

I decided to go with the pheer, I talked to Jose and he was super helpful. Is that rest on yours the one it comes with?

Looks like a straightforward nice design, and a lot of room for DiY add ons; but i notice something strange.
First, i believe the platen mount may have knuckle (or workpiece, depending on the job) clearance issues on the left part.
Second, from the pics it looks like tracking on the left will have the belt digging into the motor.

Any grinder will run smooth if they are rigid and if the wheels are well balanced and in line; the frame of the kmg is solid, but a little tuning will make it run like silk as well as any other grinder.

Mine has a custom work rest form Donald Dentz....no clearance issues, more of an illusion of the angle....this pic was taken right away when I set everything up. After taking the time to ensure everything was in line it is very smooth and runs great in both positions. I love it:-)
