Kmg

If my darn income tax ever shows up..,i'll have a brand spankin new kmg.anyone work for the gov....help a brother speed this up

I think this will end up going for basically new. One of the things I hate about Ebay is how often people overbid stuff.

I'm not sure it's overbidding. The few times I've seen KMGs for sale there has been very little depreciation. That's a testament to how really well Rob builds 'em and their rock solid dependability.

Due to rising costs and price increases, I don't think it will be long before we see a used KMG sell for more that it's original price.

Can the KMG's value actually appreciate? Time will tell. I'm curiously watching.

I definitely wasn't trying to knock the value of the KMG. Most grinders retain a lot of their value. For me, the issue is paying sticker price for a used tool (or one that's possibly sat in unknown conditions) when I could put the money straight into the pocket of the manufacturer and get it supported. I have a feeling Rob would help me out with the machine if I bought it off of another maker, but I'd rather buy it new if the difference is five or ten bucks.

If a person could save 10% or more, I think it would be a good value to buy the tool used. A couple more bids and this thing will be sub-10% with three days left. Top it off with the fact that you're still going to have to buy the wheels and platen new (or fabricate them) and it's already going at less than a 10% discount to get into a whole package.

Not to mention Rob has more feedback than the ebay guy :)

There's also a factor of risk you have to calculate when buying from an unknown individual vs. a manufacturer. If it's just a small price difference (as it often ends up on Ebay), the risk just isn't worth it to me.

I've been casually watching this one too, but assumed it would climb too high to be worthwhile.

I'd rather share my money with Rob anyway :D

From the little bit you can see, it looks like that guys got an awfully nice shop.

Hunting for a used grinder is understandable (I think it's human nature to want to find a "deal")... but I am elated that whenever I'm ready I can email/call Rob and order what I want. It takes a lot of the guess work out of it!

Now if I could just twist my arm a little more I am about ready for another KMG and another 9" disc (which will be from Rob too) :D

It's only money fellas!!! ;)

I love mine. :D
