Knatchet....R.I.P !!!

Pitdog, you know what I always say, "I never throw away a pattern." If someone really wanted one I could be convinced to make one.

I thought you broke it somehow when I saw the title :o

At least that isn't the case. Maisy is always good to see. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Huh. It is a rough one on the stock required. But a bandsaw... how broad is that?

Perhaps he could simply offer it at a higher price, where it is cost effective.
Says it all really

If enough people see the value of the design they should be prepared to pay the extra to get it.

If they aren't prepared to pay, then really they can't see the value. IMO, it can't get any simpler than that :D

Kind regards
Mick

Hi all,

Before the Knachet there was the Termite;).

So RIP Knachet:D.

All kidding aside, As some others have said John would just have to charge more.

I will say this though the if you are just using a band saw to cut out the hatchet/knife it does take a lot longer than using a cutting torch and then grinding up the shape. The first hatchet I made I did witha bandsaw,
but after that to make Termites and hatchets I used a cutting torch and it was way faster to do. That is if you have a cutting torch though.

Being the primitive old goat that I am, I have neither a torch or a bandsaw! I cut it out by drilling a series of holes, then grinding it to shape.

Wow John, that is primative. Dang that would take a while for sure. I do that on Ulu knives that I make.

In the pic above. The ulu knife I have to drill holes side by side so I can make that slot inbetween and below the 2 smaller holes.
So I know what you mean John. But doing that with every knife:eek: WOW John.
I feel for ya man.

I feel for ya. I'm doing all of my machete mods with nothing but a hand drill, a Dremel, and a few files and sandpaper. :o
