knife #1 of 2008

here's another knife pick brian. it was finally warm enough last sunday to grind a knife. last night my friend was in his shop so we heat treated the edge and i put it together this evening. i'm getting andy from andy's leatherhouse to make the sheath.

i forgot to put down the dimensions. its 10 1/2" overall with a 5 7/16" blade that is 3/16" thick and 1 3/4 from spine to edge. the steel is 1075.

i just put an edge on this morning and it is a convex edge. it goes easily through newspaper like crazy.

What is the hardness of the steel at the spine? the edge?

the disc rockwells around 56rc and i try to get the edge between 63-65rc. i never had this one tested since my friend has been too busy to take it in.
