Finished this one yesterday and decided to share for some feedback. I still need work on my right handed grinding (ironic because I'm right-handed) and my filework is slightly uneven. Overall it's a huge improvement over all of my previous blades.
It's made from 1080, hollow ground on an 8" wheel, satin finish to 600 grit (no fishhooks). The woods are ebony (I think) and cocobolo with 304 stainless pins and brass pins respectively.

A very good looking knife. I don't usually care for non-metal guard/bolsters, but on this knife it looks good.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, it's certainly a great motivator to continue working on blades and just keep getting better. If you have any criticism please feel free to tell me, criticism can only help me find areas to improve.

After looking at this a while, I decided that I don't like the pin placement. I would suggest having the middle pin centered between the other two. I think it would look more balanced.

I'll disagree with mike on the pin placement. I like that the pins on the scales are even on the scales. I think that instead of changing pin placement perhaps a couple internal pins would be a nice touch on the bolsters so that no pin shows on the bolster but it's just a choice of style and look, not of function.

My only other suggestion would be to bring your file work all the way around the tang.

I feel your pain on keeping the filework even and the right hand grinding (I'm right handed also). I'm developing a theory that goes like this- I have much better control when holding my push stick right handed so the loss of "FEEL" because of using the push stick doesnt have as great of an effect as opposed to holding push stick left handed. My plan is to begin grinding bare handed no push stick after getting some new belts.

Knife looks great though :thumbup: I love the choice of handle material ! The scales look fantastic and the black bolsters give a nice contrast between the wood and blade colors.
