Here's knife #3. CPM-154, elk handles, drop point skinner, file work along the spine. I'm still working on how to finish the blade without destroying the grind lines... Comments welcome!

DEwing,

Nice looking knife. It seems you have quite a bit of thickness all the way down the spine. In the future you might try tapering the blade as it goes towards the tip. It looks nice, helps with the balance and feel in the hand as well as reducing weight. Some naturally occurring taper happens when your grind line runs parallel to your cutting edge. You have a lot of spine thickness because you ran the grind fairly straight down to the tip. For knife #3 though, this is very good.

Looks good! I would add that the edge looks pretty thick. Try taking the next one down to .010" or so before sharpening. You did a good job on the bolster also. Nice work.

i4Marc,

I hadn't thought of tapering the blade, I'll give that a try. Thanks for the positive feedback. Much appreciated.

Matt R,

I have been messing with edge thickness before heat treating. I agree on the thickness... Thanks for the feedback.
