Here is my third knife. I went with a tactical field cleaver style on this one.

I forgot to finish the front of the scales before putting them on. Also, having trouble getting all of the grind lines out and the heat treat scale off. Probably a lack of patience. Still learning.

What do you think?

I like the handles. I would grind or file the edge of the blade flat before you go ahead and grind the bevel, so it would look more crisp and not wavy.

I always recommend a person ask himself what function a feature serves on his knife before he builds it in. The large hole and long unhandled end of the tang seems to serve no real purpose, but greatly changes the grip and comfort of the handle. It would seem to have been better with full length scales and a lanyard hole at the butt. If you had a function for the big hole, then the thong hole in the middle looks odd. All plain rivets, or all tubes would have been better.

The kydex sheath looks nice.

It looks like this is a left ground chisel grind, in a sheath made for a right hand carry. Usually, the side that is away from you when you when you hold the knife is the side that is ground on a chisel ground knife. This will push material away from the cut, as it should. This grind also makes for precise cutting along a straight edge, since the flat is against the straight edge. This is the opposite of what you have here. I would lose the long drop on the belt loop for the kydex. Riding low like that just makes it more prone to snagging and messing up the draw. turn the loop back right at the top of the sheath, so the loop is behind the main body, and it will ride tighter to the body, you won't use as much kydex, and it will look cleaner as well.

I don't have a good picture of the back of the sheath, but you should get the idea. Of course this is all just my opinion.

Thanks for the advice guys. I really do appreciate it. The thong hole in the middle was installed because these scales were intended for my first knife and I screwed up on drilling those holes. Rather than waste the scales, I enlarged the hole for a tube. I should have added tubes on the front and back to even it out.

the large hole in the back serves no real purpose. Pretty much just experimenting with technique and design. I like the bottle opener idea.

Also, thanks for the feedback on the chisel grind. I didn't know it really mattered, but that makes a lot of sense.

thanks again folks.

Honestly, the only real critique I have other than what was mentioned was what you bought up... patience, patience, patience. if you aren't happy with the sanding before you put the scales on, you definitely won't be happy with the sanding once they are.
