Below is a progress shot of my fourth knife. I thought I'd post it since this is my first successful clay heat-treat. There's not a whole lot of activity in the hamon... but I didn't expect much more from 1080. The blade was quickly sanded to 500 grit on one side for the photo and was not etched. There is still a ton of sanding to do.

Damn buddy, your blade is looking sick for such a new maker. Good work, sexy clip point you ground there.
 
Lookin good so far; I like the weight loss treatment.

Yeah... part weight-loss treatment but mostly for additional epoxy security. Much of the weight-reduction should come compliments of the tapered tang (though less dramatically tapered than my previous knives to provide balance to the stronger blade profile).
