Ok first let me say I am posting this just to support my earlier claim so Bruce doesn't think I am completely nuts. ;)
First link I found googling small kukri.

Scroll down a little for a knife in the same style.

Now back to complimenting a gorgeous knife. :D

Patrice, the blade shapes are quite similar but thats the only thing. Are you nuts? :D

The handle has beautiful depth.
The Recurve reminds me of Kukri knife.
Very shiny bolsters that flow with handle.
What sheath are you going to make for it?

Best Regards

Well considering your experience and talent level compared to mine I am indeed completely in the dark about the whole thing and certifiably yahoo! ;)

Patrice

Well You did spot the Kukri blade so maybe you are only half Yahoo! :D

Wow... and hilarity ensues. :D

Definitely similar in the use of the "kuhkri" recurve but that's about where the similarity ends. So maybe not completely nuts... but don't surprised if somebody starts taking your measurements for a new white coat... with extra long sleeves. :p

I still have yet to attempt leather work... I don't even know where to start. Conceptually, for this knife I envision an inside-the-pocket leather sheath with a clip that supports it in the pocket. The blade would face edge-forward and tilt slightly inward along the thigh. I used to carry a HI kerambit this way (only without the pocket clip). I also used to wear cammo pants. :D

I think a lot of the discussion about original vs. non-original design, like most internet communication, ends up being an argument of semantics. It all depends on how we are defining similarity and originality at any given moment.

There is nothing new under the sun... well, nothing without an Apple logo on it. :p

Great looking knife, and great finish overall - wish I had an eye for design as nice as you do!
