Knife A or B?

Hi All,

I have the opportunity to pick up a Never used Swamp Rat Ratweiller with sheath or a BRKT Bravo Survivor (also unused in A2) for the same price. my usage would be for general outdoor/camp tasks. I realize these to blade have few similarities but, since I would not be able to handle each, I'd some honest opinions on which you feel would be the superior knife overall.

Thanks in advance!

Not familiar with either so I'll give my computerchair opinion since no one else has chimed in.

Ok, both will have their respective fans chime in eventually. Based on the pictures I have posted I'd choose knife A.
I like the wider and more rounded handle, it looks super comfy. I like the semi-guard protrusion thing in front of the handle.
If swamp rat coatings are anything like Busse coatings, I think it will go a long way to protecting that blade out in some wet woods.

While that is a beautiful clip point on knife B, I don't particularly care for that huge lanyard square hole thing on the end, and
the handle looks a little more blocky to me, by comparison.

I don't think you would be wrong with either. Use the force, and pick which one speaks to you the most.
Best of luck.

Both fine choices I would guess having never owned or handled either. I believe the A2 has the advantage of being more corrosion resistant but I can't say by what margin, the Rat has the coating though so the edge is the only vulnerable area. This has been said before many times, but if you can, pick up both and release the one that appeals to you least and you will have no doubt you made the right choice. I would go choice A as well if forced to choose though.

I would pick the survivor, a2 steel speaks to me more then sr101, but both appear to be solid Knives, and both would serve you well I imagine...

As posted above, don't think you'll go wrong either way, pick which ever one speaks louder to you.

This is a question that shouldn't be asked... You should take the BRK

and forward the purchase information of the SwampRat to me.

I see what you did there :)

The Rat would likely out perform the BRK by a long shot...and comes with one hell of a warranty.

Hey if you go for the Bravo, let me know who has the Rat Weiller, I want it

Grab the Ratweiller and run. :D

I've got a 10th Anniversary LE and it's a great (but thinner) blade than the original:

Swamp Rat all the way. I own and like my share of Bark River knives, but I'd take a Swamp Rat (or SYKCO) into the woods with me over a BR any day of the week.

SR looks like it has way less hot spots. Comfy is key here! Looks great as well!

The one thing the Bravo Survivor has is a comfortable handle. That picture isn't great in showing the radius. That being said, what's the price? From what I can see the Swamp Rat sells for more new (considerably) so I'd consider the deal you're getting. Brand new Survivors go about $250 on up, depending on the handle material.

$200 for either

Tough choice. The Busse warranty applies to the knife, not the person that bought it.

Thanks RevDevil! My only reservation about the rat is I am not fond of black coatings. I know it can be removed but not sure how to since I assume the scales can't be removed.
