Knife A or B?

A2 is a really good steel, but SR101 is just sublime in my experience. It's only shortcoming as far as I can tell is corrosion resistance.

That looks good! one last question (Swamp Rat noob here) I notice the one I'm looking at doesn't have the SW logo on it anywhere.. do some not have it?

OK. you guys have convinced me. I'm getting the Ratweiller. Its gen 1 "sterile" blade 1/4" thick. It does have a slight burnishing on the top from being inserted and removed from a kydex sheath, I'm told. No matter to me. For this knife and a a Spec Ops sheath (for now) I think it's a decent deal for 2 bills. Looking forward to it. Thanks for all the help!

Sell your car and get both! In all honesty, I like option A better.

Got my new Ratweiler last night! Very happy with it so far..my first Busse/kin knife. Handle will take a bit of getting used to but I think I got a great deal overall. Any idea of a kydex maker that may have a pattern for a Gen1 Rat? :).

Gorgeous! Congratulations!!!!!

For Kydex sheaths, try BuyBrown, MashedCat, or AZ Welke

Thanks RevDevil! My only reservation about the rat is I am not fond of black coatings. I know it can be removed but not sure how to since I assume the scales can't be removed.

You want the coating under the scales. That's the most useful place for it.

[virtually] " holds an edge forever."

And I salute the crowd for actually sticking to A or B.

Not familiar with either so I'll give my computerchair opinion since no one else has chimed in.

Ok, both will have their respective fans chime in eventually. Based on the pictures I have posted I'd choose knife A.
I like the wider and more rounded handle, it looks super comfy. I like the semi-guard protrusion thing in front of the handle.
If swamp rat coatings are anything like Busse coatings, I think it will go a long way to protecting that blade out in some wet woods.

While that is a beautiful clip point on knife B, I don't particularly care for that huge lanyard square hole thing on the end, and
the handle looks a little more blocky to me, by comparison.

I don't think you would be wrong with either. Use the force, and pick which one speaks to you the most.
Best of luck.

 i agree even though i like the looks of the clip point i too cannot wrap my mind around the. Lanyard loop.

They have a few models that have both the lanyard tube and the loop on the back. The nice thing is you can have that removed free of charge (if bought new) or mail it in and just pay a shipping charge.
