Knife Abuse

I attend gunshows regularly and the behavior mentioned by the OP doesn't surprise me a bit. It's definitely a buyer-beware environment. On the one hand you have the over priced plain jane knives with tall tales of rarity and collectability and on the other a gun dude who took a knife as part trade and has no idea of the worth. Best examples are an '89 damascus/stag Buck 110 for under $100 and a search through a "$10" box to find a pristine Schrade folding hunter and a Blackjack folder. You can do well at these shows sometimes but you have to spend some time searching and know what you're looking at. Remember, the second best outcome is to leave with your money still in your pocket.
