Knife addiction - month #1

Enjoy it. It's a fantastic hobby. You go custom or high end 2 a year midrange 6 every other month and remember " YOU NEED TO BUY THE FLOWERS FOR YOUR WIFE BEFORE YOU BUY THE KNIFE'. But Great Northern is right Buy what you like what feels good in your hand and to your pocket

I made some good choices… but mostly not so good. Month #1 down of this dumb new hobby.
What drew you to those choices? I ask just to see what you like about those knives. I have a number of Kershaws, and CRKTs and what I like about them is the value for money and usually good steels. CRKT experiments with different types of locks and enjoy messing around with the Kleckers, Deabolts, elocks, etc... On the other hand the fit and finish on many of the better japanese folders is tough to rival, as well as the designs themselves. Mcusta make a great knife as does Moki. So I look for "Value" priced Mokis and Mcustas, sometimes that's not easy. Then you got your Titanium framelocks nice stuff and you usually pay for it. Personally I did not warm up to my Sebenzas. The AB Imamba on the other hand is addicting. The theres Spyderco watch out man that chick is trouble. I go to the factory store about once a years, its hard on the bank account but its fun to handle all the different ones. Once you experiment a bit more you'll start to zero in on what you like, until the next sharp distraction come around. Have fun with the hobby.

My Dad owned an aluminum foundry with all the lathes, milling machines, etc. I didn’t learn much, but it gave me an appreciation for machined and cast parts. I suspect these knives are an extension of that appreciation.

The first few knives were mostly terrible purchases. The CRKT started it all and I wound up with a “specialty” knife that was different and nice to have at the dog park. 😬

The Kershaw Belair was the last purchase and I am absolutely blown away.

Before you know it a $1k knife will not seem to be too much to spend and a $3k gun will seem like a smart investment…..it’s too late to tell you to turn back since you already ended up here. My addiction started with a Kershaw Boa and I never looked back. That was four or five different collections ago 🙂 I’ve kind of lost track.
