Knife advice for odd use...

I too am curious about whether the Kershaw has arrived, and if so, does your wife like it?
 
Thanks for the interest. :) I ordered the knife, and it shiipped on the 28th. I don't expect it for... say another week or so. Canada Post is slow as hell, and it still has to make it through Customs. Once it gets here, I'll be sure to post a report.

At the same time I ordered the knife, I also ordered an extra-coarse DMT diamond stone, so if any reprofiling needs to happen, I'll be able to do that.
 
Have you seen the MSRP on the Spyderco/Hossom collaboration? Would you still be interested in that price range?

I've already ordered the Kershaw... we'll see how it works then I might start soliciting more ideas. Those look pretty workable for lower-end stuff... but the one you mentioned doesn't have enough of a point on it.

Hell, I want one of each of those for myself! They're pretty sweet, and had they been out, would have likely been in the running. I figure if I spend some money on it, then I'll be justified in finding more excuses to go camping (which we both like) so I can try to use it. :D
