I got out for a lil bit today, and decided to gather some firewood and test out a new knife.

I took my Brian Andrews modified S&N camp axe, a cheap folding saw, and a my Landar15 Bushcraft knife.

The camp axe is designed more for splitting but it chops really well!

The folding saw was still easier at quarting the oak though.

Splitting was another story. I am not the greatest or most experienced with an axe, but you would have thought I was a pro if you saw the way this axe performed!

I then decided to play with my new Landar15 Bushcraft. I am shocked at how well it performed. It is 1 of the best cutters that I have ever handled.
I never had much luck fuzzing dead oak, but I am more than happy with the curls I got with this knife. It was almost effortless!

It cuts amazing!

More coming.

It was a lil chilly today so I decided to make a fire. I found some cedar bark, which I shredded up and hit it with a fire steel. In no time I had a nice lil blaze going.

I am so impressed with this knife. The edge is still superbly sharp and I love the handle contours.

It is becoming one of my favorite knives!

I think Landar15 should do a passaround on this style of knife. I am sure everyone will love it.

Thanks for looking

Nice report, bro.

Good to see the results.

Was that a pre-made shelter area that you frequent? Looks like a great area.

Hi all,
Good review I have two of Brians axes and two more on the way LOL
they really are ground right aren't they. They make cutting up and spiltting wood
a breeze. Cool looking knife to. Yea making fuzzy with oak, way to go.

He did an excellent job reprofiling the axe

Nice photos Tony.

I had a chance to do a little cutting with Tony’s Landar; I was quite impressed.

Awesome pics bro. I really want one of Brians axes.

I love that knife. Looks awesome.

Nice to see ya got out and did some stuff. Looks like fun....

I like the little knife too. I think I remember seeing it in the for sale area. What are the specs on it? Does it have a model number?

Landar15 or Walter Davis makes an excellent, excellent knife. His convex grind angle and edge give what I believe the best in cutting ability and edge retention combined. He calls that model "Bushcraft style". I have three of them that are each very unique in look and feel. One, in curly maple looks very "frontier" like, the second, also in curly maple has a bit more refined look and has a beefier handle, the the third is the sister to Tony's knife except it has red liners and a cooler owner :D.

It is his Bushcraft style This one is convex ground 1/8" 1075, 8 3/8" overall, 3 3/4" tip to handle, with a polished rough satin finish. The handle scales are black micarta

 Someone just fell off the Christmas list:D

Nice - never heard of the landar before - looks full convex and has a good spearpoint shape to it. Also like the axe.

Very nice man!

I like the S&N axes alot, they have a "pionerrer" look to them. Now I gotta find away to buy something else:rolleyes:

Man that S&N looks sweet ... I'm gonna have to pick one up.

Never seen that particular saw before ... the teeth look pretty wicked.
