Ok so I bought a new camera monday and though I haven't got to get out in the real woods since then, I still have to break in the camera ;)

It had been windy and there were plenty of small limbs on the ground, all I needed was a little tender, and it doesn't take long to find fat wood in Ga!

A little work with the 780 and the Vic rucksack and it was read for the spark.

Thanks for looking!

can-do...Nice links just wanted to say that I always enhjoy your posts and I think you are a great member of the little community here.

Seems like this weekend the weather won't let me go ice climbing... maybe it is time to go outdoors and try out all the new stuff I have been getting lately (folding saw, F1, RAT-7, firesteel blanks, etc). I promise to take some pictures.

That fatwood you just found is the hint I needed to figure out where I could find some without having to break down full size tree stumps.

I've been wanting a f1, bring the pics!!!

Alot of the pines around here are like that, right at the joint and up several inches. Seems the lower the limb the richer it is.

Great pictures, looks like the camera was worth it.

Beautiful little dog. Is she a particular breed? I had a dumped dog we adopted when I was little that looked very similar. "Mamadog" was a great dog, followed me everywhere and always very polite. Even once ate a banana because she had begged for it. I told her she didn't want the banana, but she insisted. I gave it to her and she ate it all, and it was obvious she didn't like it. I'm down to one dog and need another.

You mean you split fatwood with a mora?!?
Just kidding of course. If this starts another argument
in this awesome thread I will never forgive myself.;)
Great toys, beautiful dog, I'm jealous too.

Lotoblades, How is that Helle working for you? I have been meaning to get myself a nice traditional looking scandi.

Thank You Lukus!, all I know is that she is a beagle mix, a guy was giving away puppies in a parking lot and we decided we'd take on lol She must have a good bit of beagle in her though, she occasionally catches ( and constantly chases) rabbits, usually eating bones, fur and all!

Liam, ha ha I may break it yet:D
I really like the helle, good solid knife, the handle fits my hand very well, my only complaint is the sheath, which is nice but as sharp as the blade is it needs a liner!

Thanks again for the compliments!

Went for a little walk, so here are a few more

What's your opinion of the SOG Field Pup? I've been wanting one for a while, how's it hold up?

Imho, the field pup is a good little knife for the $ their aus 8 takes a great edge very easily, and though the sheath isn't the best looking in the world it works well and is secure. Unless you really beat on it I think it will hold up well.
