After a bad experience with one of the first LED watches - a Bulova - in the 1970s, I became a mechanical watch snob. Then about 15 years ago my late wife bought me a Timex Ironman Triathlon which impressed me after I wore it for a few years in the hot humid Texas heat and winters. So I think they have their place....
