Knife Bed or EDC Tray

My wife kept bitching at me about scratching the dresser when I put my knife away at night so I built this to hold my stuff without scratching the damn dresser.

The base box is Bacote and it is then lined and topped with Cocobolo and the bottom is leather. I thought about adding some slots but maybe next time, this was just to test out the idea. It did come out pretty nice even if I do say so myself.

I lay my knives on an old rabbit skin on my dresser. Keeps them safe and warm till morning. Nice box.

Didn't need it in the kitchen. The honey suggested I use it to hold my knives. Put it in my den and now I have up to 21 of my favorite EDC folders available at all times. My EDC rotation is more varied now that a bunch are always in view.

I'm all about the recycling of cigar boxs. Got a Padron box for knives etc. And a cohiba box doing duty for my ACU nametapes and other Army stuff. Your box is a tad more presentable though.

I think it would make a neat knife storage thingy.

But they are SCARCE now that everyone has quit smoking.

I use a Maxpedition travel tray for my EDC stuff. Has some pockets on it for things like notepads and such, and packs flat if I travel. :thumbup:

I lucked out. The big dresser in the bedroom set my wife HAD to have has two jewelry drawers on top. I lined mine with and anti-slip/anti-corrosion mat from Lowes. Funny thing is, we didn't even know they were there until we had the set for a week.
